A year of -isms...

"The boss chooses to meander out of his office and down the hall in time to hear my desperate whale cries of freedom."

...I went out yesterday to see what things I could offer for my blogaversary blog candy...here's a little peek at some of the things for the winner...I haven't really decided how it's all going to work, probably all the comments on my March 1 post...so don't forget to come back and visit me on the 1st!

I loves me some K&Co. and I hope you do too!

So there's a K&Co. design paper pack with two packs of coordinating 3D stickers.

I have something on my mind right now and I'm wondering if I'm the only one this happens to...I certainly hope not, though!

CONFESSION #13
Whenever I'm hosting a giveaway or blog candy or anything of the sort, I always get carried away by the excitement and fun of showing pictures and describing things that's up for grabs that I end up wanting to keep what I'm giving away and forgetting all about the giveaway.

*giggles* Not to worry though! The winners of the Ultimate Tim Holtz giveaway that I hosted will be receiving their prizes directly from Marti and I won't have the chance to think about keeping it...*LOL* Although I still half wish that I could win it! I am such an alcohol ink addict!

Anyway! There's a little bit of my blog candy for my upcoming anniversary! I will be posting some more pictures once I get them all together, so hoping you come back and visit for a little bit of fun!

"I can’t wait to be an auntie!
P.S. I hope I get something in the mail today!"

Taking a walk...

...down blog-memory lane. It occured to me from catching a glimpse of someone's blogaversary sign, that my own blogaversary is coming up! And after I installed mine, I realized how soon it was coming up!

Wow, I can't believe that I've had my blog for almost a year! I know that I didn't write as much or post as much in terms of ACTUAL projects (as opposed to the stuff I buy *LOL*) but that was my year and I can't take it back or change it (actually, I guess I could by way of back-posts, but that would just be cheating myself, wouldn't it...) All I'll have to do is just try harder to be a much better blogger!

I think now's a good time to put in another of these posts since I haven't done much of those either!

CONFESSION #12

Although I don't update my blog as much as I should, when I get to like peoples' blogs, I read them all from the very beginning. Not just a few posts back...I like to go to a blog's archive and start from the veeery beginning and work my way forward. It's fun to really get to know someone and their beginnings...I guess it's also one of those things where you treat yourself how you'd like to be treated, and I guess I would hope that some people would find me interesting enough to read from the very beginning. It must just be the nosy-ness in me. I just like to know everything there is to know...plus it's fun to see how people's work have evolved...speaking of which...

Want to know something? I went and started reading mine from the beginning. It's really fun...I make myself laugh with the weird, crazy things that I say and think and it's so FUNNY to see how crazed I could get over buying things and waiting for things in the mail. Want to know something else? I was in the middle of reading one of my earlier posts and The Mister walks by and goes, "Ew, that one's UGLY!" *rolls eyes* Can you just imagine the backtracking he had to do to try to dig himself out of the hole he just dug and threw himself into when I told him it was MY card? *sniffs* Hmph!

Anywho...I came across a couple things that I had written that made me laugh out loud (either in actual entertainment or embarrassment) and I thought that I would post a few of them from now until my actual blogaversary.

Plus, word on the street is that some people give away blog candy on their blogaversary, so I wouldn't want to be the odd one out! Looks like I've got to get some fun things together, then! We shall see...

On to some SillySkittle-isms throughout the year...

"The first step is admitting you have a problem.
My name is Catherine, and I am a shop-a-holic.
The problem is, I need more stuff."

Confession #11...

...wow, it's been a while since I've done one of these! But I was sorely reminded of it when I went to do a little blog-hopping this morning at work before start time.

I'm really sorry for those of you this applies to, I don't mean anything by it and it just might help with your traffic...but I SERIOUSLY have a hard time with blogs that have music. ANY kind of music, but with the loud, fast kind of music. I mean, even if I like the song, I still don't like blogs with music. Especially if I want to have peeks at blogs here at work and on my break, it practically makes me jump out of my seat when music starts blaring out of my usually quiet speakers.

But it's not even when I'm not work...when I look at blogs at home, too. I don't know, I think I just find it a little bit distracting and takes attention away from what I'm coming to see, which is crafty ideas and creations, etc. Plus, as much as I enjoy the music that I listen to, I don't normally choose to force it upon anyone else either. And sometimes the blogs who have playlists, it takes me forever to find the little dashboard so I can press stop! While I do stay and complete my visit at blogs with music, it does shorten the length of time that I choose to stay - especially when there's no option for me to stop the music. *shrugs* Just my own little confession/preference...maybe others feel the same and maybe not. Just a thought though if you have it and want to keep it...make it easier for me to find the stop button! :)

Confession #9

...so, it's funny how when I first started making cards, I just *HAD* to have a Cricut so that it would bring up the level of my cardmaking and scrapbooking. Once I had discovered the Cricut via the infomercial, I couldn't make anything until I got the Cricut. Anything I tried to make didn't look good but I just knew that once I got the Cricut, everything would look better.

I joined The Board while waiting for my Cricut to arrive and discovered that I was SO far behind in what I "needed" for cardmaking/scrapbooking that I wasn't even part of the race. So I had to quickly catch up so that I had most of those things too by the time my Cricut arrived.

Then I had to make sure I had LOTS of carts. I was CONVINCED I needed all the carts.

The all-day CM crop was April 19 and I haven't even taken my little baby bug out of it's bag that I packed it in. It's been sitting underneath my craft table since that day. What's worse is I got JOTS and SYI from AnnaBlack April 21...and I haven't even taken them out of their plastic packaging. I haven't even taken them out of the box they came in. *whistles*

Confession #8

...these beads are taking over my life. I feel like they're following me everywhere out of the scraproom. Our house is a total mess now. I've been making the beads in the scraproom, I've been packaging them in the dining room and I ran out of room so I have the other laptop and printer set up on the kitchen counter. Earlier this morning on my way out the door for work, I was wondering what the heck was in my shoe and lo and behold, a JewelPop. I get home and I'm getting dinner ready and I'm stepping on a SwirlyPop.

Just a few seconds ago while getting ready for bed, I'm changing and I hear two little beads fall to the floor and I have to start laughing as I have no idea how they got into my bra. I swear I'm not eating them!

Confession #7

...I am reaching an absolute frantic craze in cartridge collecting. I have JUST PM'd AnnaBlack on The Board inquiring about her new shipment of carts - SYI and JOTS (w00t!) and that doesn't even BEGIN to scratch my "I Want, I WANT" list. So herein lies the confession...

I bought PDUP at the fabulous (and very short) M's sale last week...let's see, I think it was Wednesday, and I haven't even opened it. Everyone else was talking about it and going on about how none of their M's had it, and I walk into mine and it's just there staring at me, practically DARING me to pick it up and buy it and I answered that dare! I am so weak...

The other confession behind the confession...I'm ordering all these carts, and I don't even know what to do with them, for the most part. I've barely used any cuts for actual projects - confession within the confession WITHIN the confession...I haven't even done very many ACTUAL projects - and the cuts that I've made, I've really only been playing around just wanting to see what the cuts look like in real life.

Just now, I asked The Mister if there was any holidays or special occasions coming up where people have to buy me stuff. He said our anniversary and I "Psssssh-ed" it because that's in September. He said the only thing coming up is Mother's Day and is it kind of bad that I half-wished I was pregnant so I could demand him to buy me a cart? I would choose New Arrivals of course...

P.S. I'd like to take this time to thank EVERYONE who's dropped by for a visit. My blog counter looked like it totally blew up...one day I look at it and it has like, 15 visitors in one day, and then all of a sudden, 115 visitors the next day! I hope you had a good time here...looked around, hung out...leave me more comments, I LOOOOOVE to know who's been by, and I always make it a point to visit right back - and NOT just leave one comment on the most recent post. My work allows that I can read through your whoooole blog and make comments about all the posts that I commented on in my head...well, work doesn't really allow it, but I sure have a lot of time to do it! So c'mooon, leave me a comment or two just to let me know you've been here, make a little notch in my teeny, tiny corner of the www, I don't mind. *whispers* You could also click on a couple ads for me...fund my OCD - Obsessive Cartridge Disorder...

Confession #6

...sometimes it's just so hard to say NO! So here I am still fresh from my bumper experience at M's over the weekend and after the gym today I found my steering wheel magically steering me to M's - again!

So do you wanna hear the confession? I walked in, saw all the carts out on display instead of the cage they're normally in, and I walked right up and found a whole bunch of carts that I wanted! Cuttin' Up, Celebrations, and Paper Dolls. I walked right up and grabbed Paper Dolls and tucked it in my arms and wandered for a bit.

Quit stalling you say...as I was walking, I started doubting my plastic. I knew I had money in my bank account, but a lot of bills are automatically coming out that I didn't want to touch anything in there, so I wanted to use my CC. Except I couldn't remember what the balance on that was...so instead of chancing getting denied I sadly put the cart back and got a DCWV Old World stack instead!

I'm not usually so unsure about my balances, but it's been a crazy few weeks with The Board's enabling so...ay-yay-yay...

Orders from Stamping Bella...

...ella, ella, ella, eh...eh...you can order from Stamping Bellaaaaa.

Okay, enough of that, I hated that song when it was playing non-freaking-stop all last summer.

So I've got...Confession #5...I was contemplating NOT saying anything and just pretending I'm doing a perfectly good job...but hey, this aint called Confessions of a Scrapaholic for nothing. So here we go:

Confession #5

Yesterday one of those fabulous things happened where I got a cheque (albeit small) in the mail from a mail-in-rebate that I'd completely forgotten about. So I was like, "YAY" extra money I didn't know about and immediately went over to Stamping Bella and ordered the stamps I had sitting in my shopping cart...completely forgetting I was on a ban.

Boooo, OMG, I didn't even last...TWO DAYS! What's up with that? My psychology degree tells me that when something starts interfering in the everyday aspects of your life, it's becoming a problem - either an addiction, obsession or compulsion.

Let me see...instead of taking showers and getting ready for work on time, I check The Board or hang out in my scraproom looking at all my stuff. Instead of working, I hang out on The Board (okay, actually this isn't an abnormality, since whenever I'm supposed to be working, I'm usually doing something else anyway...LOL), whenever I should be coming home to make dinner, I usually nip over to the LSS or M's first and when I get home if there's something in the mail I go and play with what I got instead and me and The Mister are forced to go out to eat or throw something together.

Hmmm...I think I'm still okay. I see no disruption in my every day life so far...good thing I'm not like those people.

I've also heard that denial is one of the first few steps on the road to overcoming an addiction, obsession or compulsion.

P.S. Early Confession #6, I'm not even going to pretend I'm not going to buy a cart (or two, if I can manage) at the big M's sale starting tomorrow. It turns out I have to be in TO for an all-day training session, but that's just delaying the inevitable.

Don't worry WIMG, TBBM and OA...momma's gonna bring you home!

Confession #4

...I could no longer keep going as I was going with confession #2, was it?

Anyway, the one where I had NO clean clothes left and I had to wear bathing suit bottoms...

I finally tore myself away from the scraproom enough to gather everything and haul it all into the laundry room.

There's been a basket of clean clothes sitting beside my chair in my scraproom since yesterday, waiting to be folded.

Non-wrinkled clothes are overrated anyway.

...now if I could just get my hands on that Tobi...

Confession #3

...I'm turning into a major cutter.

Not the bloody, painful, self-inflicted kind though, if that's what you're thinking.

I've gotten very close to my Cricut because of Design Studio and I'm going to be a master at this out of sheer stubborness.

My very FIRST cut file!

Ta-da:

I'd like to say, even though it may pretty much amount to nothing, that I think it's absolutely weird that I can't weld inside a circle. What's up with that?

And the finished product:

Smack me for being too lazy to edit any of these pictures before I uploaded them. I'm too busy getting my cut on to edit right now!

Now I'm excited to get my own copy of DS (and the mouse - doing all this on the laptop fingerpad is starting to get on my nerves!)

For anyone interested, you can download the .cut file here: Bubbles

Confession #2

...does it seem to anybody else other than just me, how time seems to just be whizzing by?

While I'm at work, everything seems to be going so slow, but on the whole, sometimes I feel like there's just not enough hours in the day!

I get up, go to work, go straight to the gym (Mon, Tues and Thurs - Wed night is date night with The Mister, Thurs is choir practice and Friday is church group meetings), and go home. But usually after I get home, it's time to make dinner and after that I'm just completely drained and tired from being on my feet. It just seems like I don't get enough time to really sit down and play and make and create with all my fun things!

Anyways, the days seem to just speed right by me that whenever I do get a free minute, I run to my scraproom to see what I can come up with. Instead of doing the dishes...instead of cooking...instead of grocery shopping.

If you opened my fridge door this morning, you would have seen a crockpot bowl with some questionable-looking mush inside, an empty milk bag jug and wilted lettuce and a whole lot of condiments...with nothing to put them on. In my freezer, you would have found a tub of Cool Whip, a can of frozen margarita mix, and half a bag of Jane's pre-cooked chicken.

For the past week, we had been picking up food, getting fast food or eating with any family members that would feed us.

Confession #1

...I have been so pre-occupied with scrapping, THE messageboard, and ordering things I need online that I have been so slacking in every other wife-like area.

Today, I was pretty much running late for work, my hair was dripping wet while I replied to messages on the THE MB and I haven't done laundry since I discovered the Cricut. I couldn't find any underwear...so I wore bathing suit bottoms instead.

This might be an all-time low.

This is all before my Cricut has even arrived, so I'm sure I can surpass it...
