Wish List

...because I can't seem to tear myself away from the boards...

My Wishlist

  1. More cartridges - Paper Doll, Stretch, Alphalicious and Fabulous Finds and Doodle Charm being at the top - but really, I would say ALL of them
  2. Nestabilities - Scalloped circles - both sizes, but again, I would say ALL of them
  3. Cricut Expressions - I put this third on the list considering I haven't even gotten my Baby Bug yet...I thought I would give it a fair chance before I start lusting after the E...
  4. More Stickles - when they come in lots of different colours, well...then I want them ALL!
  5. More Cuttlebug embossing folders - because you just need them ALL!
  6. ATG - haven't gotten the fever for this yet, but I know it's only a matter of time...
  7. Design Studio - from what I've heard so far, it sounds a bit intimidating, but I shall CONQUER it...once I get it...
  8. STAMPS! - Penny Black, Stampendous, House Mouse and basically ALL those cute little stamps everyone seems to have!
  9. Secret Sister - Lurking the secret brother/sister boards is like how people can't get enough of reality shows. I love looking through and looking at all the fabulous things everyone is getting. I haven't signed up yet because I want to make absolutely sure I'll be able to devote 100% to it, but everyone is just so great.
  10. Random stuff - so I can be ready for a secret sister and also so I can start doing some RAKs!

Oh I guarantee you this list will only grow...

Just one more thing...

I'm the kind of person that likes the lead up to things...

I like the planning and preparation for a trip rather than going on one...
I like the planning and preparation of a party rather than going to one...

I just love know that I've got everything together and that I'm prepared.

I think that's the same with scrapbooking/cardmaking.

It has been almost a week since I ordered my Cricut and I have been on one crazed spree in preparation.

I also kind of blame the message boards. I look at what everyone is making and what everyone is using and they're talking of how great it is and all I can think is "I WANT ONE TOO!" And it's not stopping there...over the week, I have pretty much gotten everything that I've read about on the post.

The sad thing is...I haven't made one layout or one card since I discovered the Cricut. Every time I sit down and try to make something, a little voice just keeps saying that it would look better if done with a Cricut, if done with this, or done with that...whatever.

I ordered the Cricut, and from the boards, I learned what a Cuttlebug was and ordered that too. Of course, the Cuttlebug doesn't really come with anything useful so I had to buy some embossing folders to go with them. Michael's didn't have enough so I went online and ordered more. 10 to be exact...I think...it could be more actually. Then I started reading about people stamping cards and colouring them so I went out and bought Prisma Colours (OMG, not just ANY pencil crayons...$40 pencil crayons, and that was the CHEAPEST) and the odourless mineral spirit which I have no idea what it is, but I bought it anyways. I got the blending stumps because someone said that Q-Tips just didn't cut it. I got some stamps but Michael's didn't have the cute ones that the message board people did so I ordered those online too. What's worse than having ordered all these things (I'm leaving some things out because I'm starting to freak out about everything that I ordered) is that I have to WAIT for all these things to get to me. I'm a now kind of person and this waiting is killing me...

Note to self: I still haven't made anything...

I've been bitten...

...by the Cricut bug! I can't believe it - I am never watching infomercials again! I had seen the Cricut when it came out years ago at Michael's and my mom and I were just discovering scrapbooking. I quickly blew it off as I saw the price of it and how the cartridges came separately. So on I went with my ignorant scrapbooking ways until I was bored on a Sunday years later. I caught sight of ladies scrapbooking and paused to watch and I was hooked.

I am definitely one of those people who will watch an infomercial and end up owning whatever they're advertising. Don't even get me started on the Tobi! So at first when I started watching I said to myself, "Self, you don't even want one of those. Think of all the other things you can get for the $$$!" But I couldn't tear myself away. My finger just would not change the channel. But I was good, I didn't pick up the phone and order it. After about the 4th or 5th time the commercial looped itself, I turned it off and told myself to forget about it.

I was just on the uphill spiral of my scrapbooking and cardmaking and I went to make cards. I made some cute cards, but in the back of my mind, there was this little voice whispering, "these would look SO much cuter if you had a Cricut to cut out the wording and shapes, etc." I lasted about three days before I broke down and ordered one.

Then I discovered the Cricut message boards...and I was a goner...
