All that SPARKLES...

...is glitter, Glitter and more GLITTER!

And me thinks that this silly girl went completely OVERBOARD with it! It's hard for me to deal with crafter's block. I get so frustrated and irritated with myself when I sit down to make something and I come up with ABSOLUTELY nothing! Then I get more frustrated and then of course it doesn't help me come up with anything...

Anyway, today was one of those days...I sat down and looked around and...nothing. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Blah.

So I reached for a big, huge jar of not-so-fine glitter that I've had for over a year and I decided to play!

I started with this...

And with a little tweak, a couple light bulbs going off and my good ol' friends ALCOHOL INKS, came up with this:

Red Pepper

Stonewashed

Lettuce

Wasn't really sure what to do with them separately, so I took a little bit of each and ended up with this:

...and from there, I ended up with THIS:

So is there such a thing as glitter overboard? What on this card did I not glitter? *LOL* Another question would be, is there anything that Alcohol Ink can not re-colour? I love, Love, LOVE this stuff! From being so scared to try it out to colouring everything I can get my hands on using it! *LOL*

The card is also a very loose interpretation of Mojo Monday's sketch:

There was already a lot going on with all the glitter, so I decided that I would omit a few of the extra embelly-like things and just stuck to the basics of the sketch. Hope it hasn't deviated too far from the original sketch to not actually COUNT as a Mojo Monday sketch...LOL...when I get started in the scraproom, it's hard for me to go back to the other room to look at the other details I'm missing. I usually only remember a few distinct details of the sketch and go from there anyway...but thanks for looking!

Not grasping the concept...

Definitions of Ban on the Web:
A ban is, generally, any decree that prohibits something.

Hmmm...so by reading that, it SHOULD lead me to the conclusion that a shopping ban would be the prohibition of shopping. I see how the concept can relate to each other, just not how it pertains to me.

....BWAHAHAHAHAHA...

I guess I'm just not cut out for bans - it's totally NO fun! Note to self: remove ban declaration from The Board signature.

And this is what I did with my day off:

I got this at a not-so LSS a couple cities away and had no idea what to do with them. I saw some of her examples hanging up and thought it was kind of cool. They're peel-offs, which is basically outline stickers and you can leave them as-is, or colour them with permanent markers, and then colour the inside spaces as well. I'm not doing a very good job explaining, but when I got home I had to try it out, so you'll see something about it a little bit later.

Stopped off at WM to have a peek at their carts...very bad selection (if you can count two of the same cartridges a selection, even...) but I nipped over to the scrapbooking aisle and found these babies. I also read that there is a sealer for glitter, so I'm going to pop into Michaels to see if I can find it.

My Bellas! To be fair, these don't count against today because I ordered them last week (can't believe they came so fast!). They are so nice and fit in with the rest of my grab bag stamps in their CD cases. Fabulous!

Now, the showstopper. The number one reason I was trying not to do wriggling happy dances in the Michael's aisle...

*SQUEALS* Aren't they so FABULOUS! Let me tell you, I walked into that Michael's not knowing where anything was. I did THREE laps around the whole store looking for the bin and was just about to leave all pouting, thinking they didn't have any, when I spotted them - just beside the EXIT! WOOHOO! Twelve packs of stamps that I don't already have, I must have looked a little psychotic sitting there on the ground giggling to myself. Meh...I took my little preciousessss (if you've seen the Lord of the Rings, I think I might remind you a little bit of Gollum right about now)to the register and got in line behind this lady who I think only JUST discovered scrapbooking.

From her cart she was pulling, stacks upon stacks of..well, stacks...and embellishments gallore and TWO cartridges and the request for CDS! She started asking the cashier questions and when she got a sort of blank, panicked kind of look, I thought I would step in and tell her it was FABULOUS and I loved mine, but I also got it for 50% less than what she was about to pay now. And her eyes got all wide and she was like, really? and I asked if she was part of the Cricut Messageboard and she said no, and I think my jaw dropped.

How could she NOT be? Who ISN'T?! Well, she ended up just buying it anyway and I tried not to listen, but her bill was over $400! I was jealous of all her shopping bags though because she had a LOT of goodies! Looked like she was partial to the K&Co. paper stacks. *sighs* Oooh, to just be starting out again..

Okay, enough of that, I hated that song when it was playing non-freaking-stop all last summer.

So I've got...Confession #5...I was contemplating NOT saying anything and just pretending I'm doing a perfectly good job...but hey, this aint called Confessions of a Scrapaholic for nothing. So here we go:

Confession #5

Yesterday one of those fabulous things happened where I got a cheque (albeit small) in the mail from a mail-in-rebate that I'd completely forgotten about.So I was like, "YAY" extra money I didn't know about and immediately went over to Stamping Bella and ordered the stamps I had sitting in my shopping cart...completely forgetting I was on a ban.

Boooo, OMG, I didn't even last...TWO DAYS! What's up with that? My psychology degree tells me that when something starts interfering in the everyday aspects of your life, it's becoming a problem - either an addiction, obsession or compulsion.

Let me see...instead of taking showers and getting ready for work on time, I check The Board or hang out in my scraproom looking at all my stuff. Instead of working, I hang out on The Board (okay, actually this isn't an abnormality, since whenever I'm supposed to be working, I'm usually doing something else anyway...LOL), whenever I should be coming home to make dinner, I usually nip over to the LSS or M's first and when I get home if there's something in the mail I go and play with what I got instead and me and The Mister are forced to go out to eat or throw something together.

Hmmm...I think I'm still okay. I see no disruption in my every day life so far...good thing I'm not like those people.

I've also heard that denial is one of the first few steps on the road to overcoming an addiction, obsession or compulsion.

P.S. Early Confession #6, I'm not even going to pretend I'm not going to buy a cart (or two, if I can manage) at the big M's sale starting tomorrow. It turns out I have to be in TO for an all-day training session, but that's just delaying the inevitable.
