Confession #7

...I am reaching an absolute frantic craze in cartridge collecting. I have JUST PM'd AnnaBlack on The Board inquiring about her new shipment of carts - SYI and JOTS (w00t!) and that doesn't even BEGIN to scratch my "I Want, I WANT" list. So herein lies the confession...

I bought PDUP at the fabulous (and very short) M's sale last week...let's see, I think it was Wednesday, and I haven't even opened it. Everyone else was talking about it and going on about how none of their M's had it, and I walk into mine and it's just there staring at me, practically DARING me to pick it up and buy it and I answered that dare! I am so weak...

The other confession behind the confession...I'm ordering all these carts, and I don't even know what to do with them, for the most part. I've barely used any cuts for actual projects - confession within the confession WITHIN the confession...I haven't even done very many ACTUAL projects - and the cuts that I've made, I've really only been playing around just wanting to see what the cuts look like in real life.

Just now, I asked The Mister if there was any holidays or special occasions coming up where people have to buy me stuff. He said our anniversary and I "Psssssh-ed" it because that's in September. He said the only thing coming up is Mother's Day and is it kind of bad that I half-wished I was pregnant so I could demand him to buy me a cart? I would choose New Arrivals of course...

P.S. I'd like to take this time to thank EVERYONE who's dropped by for a visit. My blog counter looked like it totally blew up...one day I look at it and it has like, 15 visitors in one day, and then all of a sudden, 115 visitors the next day! I hope you had a good time here...looked around, hung out...leave me more comments, I LOOOOOVE to know who's been by, and I always make it a point to visit right back - and NOT just leave one comment on the most recent post. My work allows that I can read through your whoooole blog and make comments about all the posts that I commented on in my head...well, work doesn't really allow it, but I sure have a lot of time to do it! Confession #6

...sometimes it's just so hard to say NO! So here I am still fresh from my bumper experience at M's over the weekend and after the gym today I found my steering wheel magically steering me to M's - again!

So do you wanna hear the confession? I walked in, saw all the carts out on display instead of the cage they're normally in, and I walked right up and found a whole bunch of carts that I wanted! Cuttin' Up, Celebrations, and Paper Dolls. I walked right up and grabbed Paper Dolls and tucked it in my arms and wandered for a bit.

Quit stalling you say...as I was walking, I started doubting my plastic. I knew I had money in my bank account, but a lot of bills are automatically coming out that I didn't want to touch anything in there, so I wanted to use my CC. Except I couldn't remember what the balance on that was...so instead of chancing getting denied I sadly put the cart back and got a DCWV Old World stack instead!

I'm not usually so unsure about my balances, but it's been a crazy few weeks with The Board's enabling so...ay-yay-yay...

Of bans and bumpers...

...so. Today was THE day. M's put their Cricut carts on sale for $49.99 ($39.99 in the US - why couldn't I live in the US at critical moments like these?!)

And where was I, you ask? I was at an all-day web training session out of town. ALL DAY. From 9 am - 4 pm. That was SEVEN hours of good shopping time!

Anyways, there was actually good news in that. Since it was an hour and a half out of town, I was able to shop at a different M's than the ones around here (which, if I haven't said so already, suck).

So as soon as the session is over - at least I HOPE it was over...I kind of just assumed it was wrapping up. I grabbed The Mister and booted it to the nearest M's. I already knew where I was headed because I Google mapped the address during the training session. (Can I just say that I already KNEW all the stuff that was going on - they should have specified that it was for like...BEGINNERS who didn't even know what websites WERE. I should say they were for beginners and everyone except me and The Mister were all over 50.)

ANYWAYS, here we are zooming into the M's parking lot and I am completely wriggling around in my seat from the anticipation. I pull into a parking spot and run out - only to have to turn back and yell to The Mister that I forgot the keys in the ignition. NO lies!

So he goes back to get them and I run into the store, stop just inside the entrance to look wildly around for the scrapbooking section and make a beeline for the cartridges! I see an endcap with like, 5 different carts and I wrinkle my nose in disgust. 5. FIVE?!?! Then I round the corner and...*cue Handel's Messiah chorus here* There they aaaall are (all except JOTS for crying out loud). I grab WIMG and OA and now that the adrenaline has peaked, I walk around slowly to look at everything else. In the end, I put back OA as I just realized I'm supposed to be on a ban and as I head over to the register, I see the $1.50 basket (it's the $1.00 in the US which leads me AGAIN to the question why do I not live in the US for moments like these?!). I idly look over and *once again, cue the chorus* there are Studio G stamps staring at me.

I have NO idea why I have SUCH an addiction to Studio G stamps. Maybe because they're so cute and little and you get multiple stamps in one little packet. Anyways, of COURSE the basket has to be right near the floor so after crouching, I end up sitting right there on the floor digging through those items like I lost my first-born child in there.

A little eye-candy if you will...

The wood-mounted Studio G's don't count against my ban because I made The Mister buy them and I said I wasn't going to be paying him back. LOL...

So at last I have reached the end of my shopping spree and I'm considering asking The Mister if he wouldn't mind stopping at another M's located in the same city, but before I can voice the request out loud...

BAM.

Oh-my-freaking-lanta...I have reversed into a pole. While Cricut flowers and clear acrylic stamps danced before my eyes, I failed to see the big, freakin' pole behind me. I run out to check and it's not too bad. No dent, but some scratches in the paint.

It's punishment for breaking my ban. Karma is SO petty. I just know it...

Okay, enough of that, I hated that song when it was playing non-freaking-stop all last summer.

So I've got...Confession #5...I was contemplating NOT saying anything and just pretending I'm doing a perfectly good job...but hey, this aint called Confessions of a Scrapaholic for nothing. So here we go:

Confession #5

Yesterday one of those fabulous things happened where I got a cheque (albeit small) in the mail from a mail-in-rebate that I'd completely forgotten about.So I was like, "YAY" extra money I didn't know about and immediately went over to Stamping Bella and ordered the stamps I had sitting in my shopping cart...completely forgetting I was on a ban.

Boooo, OMG, I didn't even last...TWO DAYS! What's up with that? My psychology degree tells me that when something starts interfering in the everyday aspects of your life, it's becoming a problem - either an addiction, obsession or compulsion.

Let me see...instead of taking showers and getting ready for work on time, I check The Board or hang out in my scraproom looking at all my stuff. Instead of working, I hang out on The Board (okay, actually this isn't an abnormality, since whenever I'm supposed to be working, I'm usually doing something else anyway...LOL), whenever I should be coming home to make dinner, I usually nip over to the LSS or M's first and when I get home if there's something in the mail I go and play with what I got instead and me and The Mister are forced to go out to eat or throw something together.

Hmmm...I think I'm still okay. I see no disruption in my every day life so far...good thing I'm not like those people.

I've also heard that denial is one of the first few steps on the road to overcoming an addiction, obsession or compulsion.

P.S. Early Confession #6, I'm not even going to pretend I'm not going to buy a cart (or two, if I can manage) at the big M's sale starting tomorrow. It turns out I have to be in TO for an all-day training session, but that's just delaying the inevitable.

It's THE ban...

...so since I already posted it on The Board, it's already pretty official so I'm going to announce that I have started my April ban!

It's a lenient ban though as I am allowing myself $20 in ADHESIVES only. I haven't broken down and let myself yearn for an ATG just yet, as I have gotten pretty attached to these adhesive tape-runners from the dollar store. It goes pretty far considering it was only $1, but now that I'm starting to make more things, I'm still going through them.

Ummm...CONFESSION #1 (while on the ban)
I dragged The Mister to Michael's today because I got all confused about the cart sale. I had intended to make him buy a cart for me as a gift to get around the ban. The only reason why I'm still all nice and sin free one this so-far-one-day ban is because the carts aren't actually on sale this week.

YES, I am that weak. 29 more days to go...

Of paper and post offices...

...I am completely exhausted.

To show just how exhausted, I got my other two cart orders from Kim's Korner (I so love ordering my carts from her, shipping's not too bad and I've got a permanent shopping cart, so I've already got my future orders on standby).

So here I am with my wonderful carts, (I can't WAIT to cut scalloped circles and that cute little bunny I keep seeing on the boards!) and I'm sitting here flopped down in bed barely able to keep my head up to type.

Because I've been completely enthralled in the wonderful world of Cricut and The Board, I haven't had the chance (well, I have, I just chose to do something else more fun - like Cricut-ing stuff) to go grocery shopping! Honestly, we had leftovers from like last week in our fridge, and that was pretty much it. No eggs, no bread, no milk, no butter...nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch. The Mister and I were living off of takeout and visiting my parents quite frequently and making them feed us.

So after work, before I could get a chance to check the mailbox for any deliveries, I went straight to Costco and bought groceries. Well, more like the meat (LOTS of meat to last us for the next three months hopefully!) and all the things I mentioned above. I also grabbed the new Cecilia Ahern book (can I just say that I totally read all the books BEFORE P.S. I Love You came out as a movie? I don't really know what difference it makes for me to see it, or what point I'm trying to make, but I just wanted that to be known.) I love this woman's books - if you haven't read any of her books and you feel like a break from the Cricut (heaven forbid) please start with P.S. I Love You (the book, not the movie!) and go to Where Rainbows End (I think that's what it's called), If You Could See Me Now and...I can't remember the title, but just get everything she's written. If you don't like them, just RAK them to me! HAHAHA...

Anyways, after I got the book, I wandered down the office supply aisle and picked THIS up:

300 sheets of the preeeettiest paper! I'm having that urge to throw them up into the air and roll around in them again. Some of the papers are all glittery and sparkly too. The paper is by K&Company. I also had a huge scrapbook kit by K&Company in my cart as well, but I ended up putting it back since the main reason why I wanted it was for all the cute little embellishments. But I had to admit to myself that I had a lot of similar embellishments already anyway. Good thing my conscience got the best of me because my grocery bill ended up being $287. If you can imagine it, my face is looking kind of green and sickly...

But in my defense, the last time we did this huge grocery shopping was in October. We buy enough stuff that it lasts as a pretty long time - the only thing we have to replenish is fruits and vegetables. I'm banking on the fact that this is saving us money in the long run.

This post is getting pretty long, but I'm finding it really hard to care what you think, so I'm just going to keep going, as today was a busy day. After grocery shopping I had to stop by Wal-Mart to renew a prescription. Peeked into the craft aisle, but came out disappointed - it's no fun that my WM doesn't even carry ANY kind of Cuttlebug or Cricut items. But I did come away with this: (which is also a coinky-dink since some girls from The Board were just mentioning it)

I looooove this stamp set! And I can't believe how long I've been stamping (one and a half weeks seems like such a long time ago) and I never thought about using brown ink. It looks SO nice. Especially with these swirly and flowery stamps.

So with all these fabulous things, you'd think I'd be having a party for one in my scraproom right about now. But writing this post has pretty much sucked up the rest of the energy I have, so I'm just going to curl up with my new book and snuggle under the covers until I get sleepy, kiss The Mister goodnight and it's off to dreamland I go!

P.S. I also forgot to mention that I completely caved and got a 2 lb grab bag of stamps from Angi-B. I flipped through the online catalogue of the stamps I could be getting, and I am SO excited for it!

P.P.S. I am getting QUITE irritated at the ebay seller where I bought my Scor-it.

Holy canoli!

...the crossing of the fingers worked! I came home to a stuffed mailbox!

Wrong kind of timing though since I just E-Mailed an ebay seller demanding a status update of my order, and all of a sudden, there they all are.

My two separate orders from the ebay seller, envelopes filled with Cuttlebug Folders! Paisley, Swiss Dots, You, Friend, Stylized Flowers, Birds and Swirls, OH MY!

...and (drum roll, please!) my first two orders from Kim's Korner: my carts!

Wa-hoo! I am now the proud owner of Animal Kingdom (is that what it's called, I'm too lazy to get up and look) and Stamped. I am SO excited to get some time to sit down and play with everything. It's going to be a creative moments day tomorrow!

I was considering sitting down and playing now, but I haven't had chance to spend time with The Mister and I think having the whole day tomorrow will be much more productive.
